10 Ways to Build Credibility

A blog is nothing without credibility. Here are some ways you can build credibility and authority in your niche:

1. Guest Post on larger blogs in your niche. This gets your name and work out there and many larger blogs are happy to accept a guest post.

2. Have your own domain name. No .blogspot or .wordpress domains please.

3. Build a solid “About” page with information about who you are. Show that you have experience and are an expert in your niche.

4. Participate in forums to help get your name out there and build relationships with others in your field.

5. Offer a free info product such as an e-Book or guide to show people what you know and what you can do.

6. Build relationships with smaller blogs to help spread your reach.

7. Make it easy for people to contact you.

8. Make sure to continue to update your blog. No matter who you are, your blog has no credibility if there is nothing new to read.

9. Try to create helpful posts. Again, no matter who you are, your blog has no credibility if there is nothing good to read.

10. Spell-check and edit your work. Make sure that it is, for the most part, grammatically correct.

As a final tip, here is what you should do to make sure you don’t destroy your credibility. If you post an advertisement or have a financial interest in anything that you post make sure to disclose this to your readers. Otherwise, they may think all content on your blog is tainted and biased towards the highest bidder.
